24 Week Pregnancy Update!

Saw my OB this week.  I am measuring 27 weeks along. Not huge, but she didn’t seem concerned.  Weight gain is okay.  I still haven’t had a huge appetite, so I am just going to keep trying to eat smaller meals throughout the day.  I take my glucose test this upcoming week, that should be interesting!

We also signed up for a Childbirth Preparation Class starting in February, I am excited about that!

We start seeing my OB every two weeks now, and our next ultrasound is in February. Things are going to start getting super busy from here on out. It isn’t really too much longer before these two little babies will be here!

I have been working hard in the past week getting things organized and ready in the nursery. I picked out all the colors and fabrics we are going to use.  I also ordered this cute print off Etsy.  I really love all the little fox prints that are popular right now, and loved this one because it had two baby foxes and the excitement about their daddy being home! Just so cute!

We haven’t painted or put together the cribs yet.  Literally the weekend before we found out we were having twins, we put an offer in on a short sale home in our area. We have still been waiting to hear whether the bank has accepted our offer or not.  We won’t wait TOO much longer to get the nursery ready, but we keep hoping to be in the new house (with more room) before the boys are born.  Keep your fingers crossed for us!

24 weeks pregnant twins

How far along? 24 weeks

Size of Babies: The size of ears of corn.  So cute!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 13 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. But up about 20ish from my lowest pregnancy weight.

Symptoms: Rib pain, big time.  Some of it is the babies being higher in my abdomen, some is the weight of giganto pregnancy boobies.  Still having indigestion, but it is still helped by eating smaller meals and taking some apple cider vinegar.  Fatigue.  Nose bleeds, still along with nasal congestion. I guess with the dry winter air, that isn’t going away for awhile.

Maternity clothes? 24/7.

Stretch marks? None yet.

Best moment this week: Knowing we have passed our first hurdle at 24 weeks. 24 weeks is one of the first big viability weeks.  Of course, the longer they chill in my tummy, the better… but now it would be possible for them to live if they were born.  God forbid, let’s not even contemplate them coming out before 30 weeks!

Miss Anything? Sleeping through the night.  Being able to sit in a chair comfortably. Wine. My appetite.

Movement: Still tons of kicks. Lots of rolling around. Feels kind of alien but amazing at the same time.

Food cravings: Water, if you consider that a food. I am constantly thirsty. Carby stuff. Fruit. Not much else.<—continues this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Meat.  Anything too strong smelling. Good or bad.

Have you started to show yet: Oh definitely.  There is no denying a baby.  Or two.

Labor Signs: Nada.

Belly Button in or out? In, but it has gotten teeny tiny, and I think after this next week it may be dunzo.

Wedding rings on or off? On.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy, though if something is sad it is very hard for it not to affect me.  I’ve cried a few times this past week.

Looking forward to: Holding my babies. <—as always.  Also looking forward to a special Valentine’s trip A and I have planned.  <3 <3 <3

  1. I hit 24 weeks today and feel like a 75lb weight has been lifted from me! Obviously the longer they’re in, the healthier they’ll be. I just feel like I’ve turned a corner and the anxiety is dissipating. We have the same cravings/aversions…must be a twin thing :). Your bump is so cute! Keep on growing!!
